There are three terms that describe blue tree pythons.
The first and most common is Hormonal Blue. Hormonal blue tree pythons are typically females that have undergone a color shift to blue while going through a reproductive event. This condition is not unusual in many of the locality types. In this form the blue color can shift back to green after the female has completed her reproduction. Occasionally females will remain blue. This color shift is not known to occur in males.
The second term used to describe blue tree pythons is True Blue. This term is used for specimens that transform from their neonate color to the typical green adult color and then shift to becoming a high blue, mostly blue or solid blue adult. The color shift is not associated with reproduction and can occur in both males and females.
The third term used to describe blue tree pythons is Super Blue. This is the rarest and most difficult form to produce. It represents animals that transform directly from neonate color to a predominantly blue adult. These are some of the most sought after specimens in the hobby today.
Below are animals that are part of our breeding projects for blue tree pythons.

Male ID# 05079
This is a high blue male that was sired by Blue Max a true blue male.
This male was paired with a blue line female, 06012, in 2009. She produced a nice clutch but unfortunately laid the eggs from the perch directly into the water bowl. A few neo's were produced. Click here for images of the neonates.

Male ID# 05188
Captive bred at our facility 8 September 2005.
This male was the result of crossing one of our TW blue line males (Mr. Blue x Carolina) with one of our PNG line females. We hope to be pairing him up in the spring of 2008.
This male was paired with a female (Shade) owned by Chris Haight in spring of 2008. She produced a clutch of 13 eggs and they are expected to hatch around the first of May. This clutch began hatching on 29 April 2008. Click here to see images of the neonates.
In 2009 we entered into another project with Chris Haight. This time pairing him to a female named Smurffette from the Walsh & Holland "Mr. Blue x Carolina" clutch. This 2009 pairing represents one of the highest concentrations of blue genetics to date. Here is the pedigree for the pairing.
We also paired this male with one of our mixed heritage females, ID# 00111, in 2009. Unfortunately only one offspring survived. Click here to see images of the female and the neo.
This male is being bred to a couple females in 2010. One is an undocumented TW blue line female on loan from Kevin Kopf and the other is one of our 2005 offspring (sibling to Super Man and 05079) from Blue Max.

Female ID# KKTW Blue line female
This girl is owned by and on loan from Kevin Kopf. She is from undocumented TW blue lines and has produced some incredible blue and melanistic animals in the past.
She is being paired with our blue and black male, 05188, in 2010. Here is a picture of the pair copulating. This female ovulated on 27 June 2010. We are hoping for a good clutch around the end of July or early August.

Female ID# 08026
Sire: 02152 (Mr. Blue x Carolina) Dam: 05016
Hatched here 6 June 2008.
