A total of 29 eggs were laid but only 25 appear to be fertile at the time of laying. They are being artificially incubated using the no substrate method. An Onset data logger has been included with the clutch to measure egg box air and eggs surface temperatures throughout incubation. The logger is set to measure both temperatures at five minute intervals throughout the incubation period.
The clutch began hatching on 13 June 2004. Below are images of the temperature logger graph and hatchlings as they were emerging.
The first graph shows the entire incubation period. The second shows the temperature spike on 1 May. The third covers the final 24 hours prior to hatching. Solid lines represent the eggs surface temperature as measured by the thermocouple. Dashed lines represent the temperature as measured by the loggers internal sensor.
