High Yellow

The majority of this group of high yellow chondros has been selectively bred from Papua New Guinea animals.  This form of high yellow chondro is the result of selectively breeding animals with increased amounts of yellow over many generations.   A natural form of high yellow chondro is known to occur on Biak island.  We are also working with some locality crosses to develop additional unrelated high yellow lines.

Female ID# 96027

Hatched in 1996 at Signal Herpetoculture Dam  92001 Sire  92002.

The male MJYLO was introduced to this female during December 2000 through mid February 2001.  The male showed little to no interest in this female so no further introductions were attempted.

This female was sent to a friend in June of 2001 to be bred to a Lemon Tree male.  The male showed lots of interest and many copulations were seen.  She layed her very first clutch in the fall but unfortunatly all 34 eggs were infertile.  Not much weight was lost in the effort and she has regained her condition rapidly.  We'll try again in 2002 and see what happens.

Well this female was again bred to the Lemon Tree male owned by Greg Schroeder in 2003.  She layed a clutch of 40 eggs on 27 September 2003.  Unfortunatly, only 10 appear fertile at the time of oviposition.  Click here to see pictures of the pair and the clutch.

This female was again bred to Greg Schroeder's Lemon Tree male in 2005.  This year 10 offspring were hatched from a clutch.  One offspring survived only for a short time.  The remaining 9 hatchlings were split between the two parties.  Click here to see pictures of the offspring.

Male ID# 02100

Hatched here 16 July 2002.

Dam:  EA9604 Sorong form

Sire:  99151 Biak Island form

This male was believed to be a female until it was re-sexed in 2008.  It is part of our project to produce new high yellow line animals that are unrelated to the more common "Lemon Tree" and "OS" bloodlines.  Our goal is to produce high yellow animals with prominent blue dorsal markings.

He is being bred to a Kofiau type female, ID# 04153, in 2009.

Dam:  "Big Bird"   O.S. High yellow line.

Sire:  "Old Yeller"

Male ID# 03117

Dam and Sire

This Nicoli high yellow line male is on loan from our friend John Holland of Blue Region.

He was bred with one of our PNG line females, 96013, in 2005 and produced a very nice litter.  He was also paired with the female 97016 but she did not produce a clutch.

This male was bred to a PNG line female, 00071, in 2007.  She produced a nice large clutch and we hope the results are as nice as his previous litter.

This male died in the fall of 2007.

Female 04095

Hatched here 31 July 2004

Dam: 00111  PNG x Sorong.

Sire: 01049  Biak form.

This girl is an offspring from our "Tiger Stripe" clutch.  Although unexpected this clutch produced a number of very unusual animals.  It just goes to show how the Biak influence can produce some very interesting results.

This female is being paired with a similar looking but unrelated designer type male, ID# 07040, in 2009.  As of late April 2009 she is developing enlarged folicles and we have high hopes to get a clutch from this pairing.   This girl laid her clutch on 17 June 2009.  Click here for images of the female and her clutch.

Dam ID: Lil Bird    Sire: Gordon

This girl is turning out to be quite a nice high yellow animal.  It is no wonder since both parents have strong yellow genes.  Lil Bird was produced by Buddy Goetzger from a pairing between Mesa (50% Lemon Tree) x Big Bird.  The sire Gordon is from O.S. high yellow lines.
