These are some of the many naturally occurring forms found in Irian Jaya. Irian Jaya makes up approximately half of the island of New Guinea and is governed by Indonesia. Many of these mainland forms are characterized by their blue-green body color and prominent blue vertebral stripe. Some also have blue rosettes on the lateral portions of their bodies. White and yellow flecking can also vary greatly among the different forms. Tail color can also vary widely as some forms tend to have light colored tails while other forms have dark tails.
These forms are certainly not exclusive to Irian Jaya since many animals originating from Papua New Guinea show these patterns as well.
